Empowerment Justice Center (EJC)
EJC is a Community organization that builds coalitions which brings critical social justice issues to the attention of stakeholders, authorities while providing counseling, homelessness resolutions, social services, education, pastoral care, violence prevention intervention, advocacy and training on how to mobilize, organize and protect against racism, violence of any kind to the marginalized people of color, LGBTQ, seniors and those impacted by the root of historically oppressive structures in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. EJC and ELC empower LGBTQ individuals and others impacted by marginalization and disenfranchisement.
Empowerment Justice Center historically has provided victims of violence services for over 4 years to residents in the DMV.
Additionally concerned about the mental wellness of women and their spiritual wellbeing. EJC has intentionally established programming for women clergy to ensure their ability to thrive in their ministerial context. EJC understands the weight of clergy, especially women clergy, since our founder is a clergy woman of color. Clergy women of color have historically been oppressed, depressed, financially marginalized, and overlooked by institutions and religious structures simply because of gender. We offer supportive groups, educational events, community outreach and training for women who are God's servants to the church.
Empowerment Justice Center was birthed from the Social Justice Ministry of Empowerment Liberation Cathedral as a 501c3 organization. EJC is proud to continue advocating for justice in the District of Columbia and the State of Maryland. EJC will continue to work with the community and women across the country, especially those seeking counseling, wellness and affirmation. EJC will continue to work with victims of violence towards resiliency and financial wholeness.
